Creative Spaces is an opportunity to involve students and staff in the creative redecoration of parts of your school or centre.
Johnny O Hanlon uses his expertise, through this project, in working with young participants, their families/carers, group leaders and teachers, to collaboratively design and make ‘creative spaces’ in their schools and centres.
These spaces are interactive and can be used as an educational tool, a robust and safe environment for creative play, and a place in which to show young people’s artwork. T
he project has a user-centred approach, with the method of engagement and design processes being developed through consultation and practical arts activities with both the adults and young people involved.
The ideas and methodology of the project has been developed over many years and as Artistic Director of HamFisted! Johnny delivered the project in many areas of Birmingham with the aid of funding through Birmingahm City Councils Creative Futures scheme 2007 - 2009.
